Hi everyone, I see the panic email about using scripts and bookmarklets has once again reared it's ugly head. While I dont endorse any bookmarklet or scripts, let me give you the correct information that myself and some of the other respected media people in the game have been given.
Lets start with this the PANIC EMAIL going around.:
Starting sometime in the next few days Zynga is putting their programmers and coders to work overtime and will be scanning all servers for bot and scripts being used. If caught no warning your account will be terminated immediately. This is not a hoax or even a scare...this has come from reliable sources. They are claiming that all the scripts being used are what is causing problems with the game servers and that is what is causing delays and screw ups in the game.
This is a completely FALSE statement !!!
While YES the use of 3rd party tools in the game does technically violate the terms of service of Zynga Games Inc. They are NOT going after the users of scripts and bookmarklets. So the use of Chucker, Switch, Brawler...ie will not get your account shut down, suspended or anything like that. You are not hurting the game or Zynga by using them and you are not getting an unfair advantage using them.
While Zynga will never officially endorse the use of these scripts & bookmarklets they are not even looking at the use of these at this time. So NUFF Said there.
I will tell you this fact, they are going after loot sellers and are watching for people who are getting infusions of reward points. This they can track & the have made changes to help prevent this in the future. They have suspended & disabled CONFIRMED LOOT SELLERS Mafia Wars accounts from fighting and gifting.
The loot sellers & people who get infusions of reward points do hurt Zynga in a way. They take away money that Zynga could of made from people, even if it is a just a virtual item. On the internet virtual items do have actual value for any company that makes them. So that is why they are going after those people.
Please remember Zynga can only suspend or terminate your Mafia Wars accounts NOT your Facebook account but if they really want to make an example of you they will go to Facebook and try to have your Facebook account disabled too if it is confirmed you have have Sold Loot or bought illegal reward points from someone other than Zynga.
So the bottomline is that you are safe, for now, if you use some of these scripts & bookmarklets. While myself and the others in the media world dont endorse the use of these, we felt it it was important that you were properly informed.
Also remember no one has ever been suspended or disabled for using Scripts or bookmaklets. This is not to say it cant happen but it does show you they are not too concerned with Chucker, Switch, Brawler...ie. I hope this helps clear up this False PANIC EMAIL for everyone and you do use these scripts and bookmarklets at your own risk.
Update !!! Here is a statement direct from Nate of Zynga:
"We as a company do not condone any script use, specifically any script that allows you to bully or automatically play the game. While we are not in a habit of going on a witch hunt, because we want people to play and enjoy the game, we do take steps to actively discourage and impede the use of scripts that decrease the value of the playing experience.
Any script that can be utilized for bullying or "sitting" on a player, we include in this category."
I agree. I have a MW neighbor who claims his gifting was disabled for one week for using chucker but the dummy sent an email to Zynga telling him he was using it and sent them the link he used to access chucker. What was Zynga going to do? Of course they had to slap him on the wrist so he would go back and tell all his friends not to use scripts and bookmarklets.

ReplyDeleteMe thinks that Zynga has their eye on bookmarklets and implements some that are widely used and Z thinks "good thing" - for example Chucker and "multi gifting" - Z maybe finally realized that gifting one by one is a pain you know where and implemented multigifting :)

Whilst I see chucker, gift link and job helper scripts as benign, if there is one they should go after it's 'brawler', because it puts load on the fightlists and ruins the game for players who click.

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, people are stuck with brawler. People have THOUSANDS of stamina, and no easy way to spend it all. JUST try to click and use that much. I know of people that have over 10K stamina. Even robbing with that much isn't feasible. The level of players have gotten to just makes it impractical to just CLICK.

ReplyDeleteAs do I. Some of it goes on the fightlist, some on ops and some on Vegas fight jobs at 160stam a pop. It makes me laugh when I see level 5000+ with millions of fight wins, and I can ice/KO them at my lowly L1400, having never spent a dime on the game, nor have I ever used brawler.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if that's due to a zynga glitch or there actually is a way to snatch people's stashes. It's been tested with MW accts with only 2 or 3 mafia and the 'already found' message happened quite regularly, when nobody else could possibly have snatched them.

All depends upon your distribution formula of skill points which effects fight outcomes. Having been coder on LP and LD MUDs since ;ate 1980s, I've seen usage and have coded many attack/defense formulations and see how using your skill points properly leads to more successful wars, robbing and missions.
well I personally don't give a hoot what zygna facebook or anyone else does they can all go screw themselves for all I care I worry about me and my family not some bullshit social network or game as long as no one interferes with my aura then they will live to see another day but thanks for the update and my comment is a GENERAL comment not intended as a threat singling one or more persons or otherwise its just my opinion backed by the 1st amendment of the US of A Constitution!!!

Please tell me, on occasion my page gets locked up and asks to stop script. I honestly don't even know how to get rid of it or what it does. I only have 1 account and do not know anything about scripts or bookmarklets. I'm not trying to learn either, just want to know why do I get that message sometimes and how to I get rid of script, which I don't even know what it does.

Teresa, this message can sometimes appear if you are doing something in the game that requires a lot of clicking. If you are clicking really fast, this message can appear on your account. If you were doing a job or fighting and you had been clicking your mouse really fast, that could have caused this message to appear for you.
As long as you aren't using any third party programs to cheat in the game, then you have nothing to worry about.

I disagree with your statement that Zynga is going after loot sellers. I have personally reported 5 loot sellers to Zynga, complete with links to profiles, facebook pages, web pages, and screenshots of actual offers posted to sell items. Zynga has not once actually shut down any of these accounts as I check on them periodically to see if they are still running. Zynga does not really care about fairness of the game. They only care about their bottom line, and with people selling stuff like this, it really doesn't hurt them much.

I think the main point here is that zynga is not reponsive enough to players' needs. Back when I started playing, there were few accounts over level 1000--it was the holy grail!! And gifting wasn't even an issue, really. Now come ahead a couple years, there's millions of players over level 1000, the gifting you need to do to make trades or stay competitive is obscene. So yes, some folks use the chucker. Even with their multi-gifting, it's horrendously slow and aggravating. I don't know much about brawler, but I have been targeted by people using attackX and hitlist bots. Those are the people who need to stop using bots. Brawler, from what I'm told merely plays the fight lists and doesn't concentrate on any single player like AttackX can and often does.
ReplyDeleteZynga needs to be more proactive with users--example, now that the level #s are so vast, perhaps split the fight list into 3 categories instead of below/above lvl 450, make their own scripts to help players get things done without losing sleep or ignoring their families for hours and hours on end. Just my opinion!

2. ALL bookmarklets are against TOS. If its NOT built into the game by Z themselves then its NOT condoned.
3. Yes switch and chucker are tame.. they arent going to waste their time banning you for those.
4. For ANYONE to state that Zynga "don't mind" brawler as it doesn't enhance your game or give you an advantage is a joke. Of course it does.. anything gives an advantage if you are not sitting at your monitor doing it yourself !
don't know why Chucker is illegal.I mean it only makes the ajax call for the gifts to be sent to the receiver,which is the equivalent of the click that you perform on the mouse...as for Brawler,imagine how life in MW would be if you had 1000 stamina....pluse players are encouraged to have more stam as it helps in boss fights....so basically,zynga creates a 24/7 use environment with the main features lacking,the stuff like BOTS are invented so that the main features can be done,and then zynga catches them for TOS violation !!!! The only thing it does do is free up your time a little to perhaps ANSWER MAIL or read the comments on your page while it's running. Seriously, the only people I see whining about brawler are the ones running wimp accounts who couldn't stand up in a fight regardless. And btw--I hardly ever use brawler, because the power attack makes it almost redundant. But you believe what you want to. Rotfl...as if it gives you some special advantage...get a clue, dummy. Zynga brought in new multi gifting, allowing up to 50 items to be sent in 1 go, yes.
this new gifting had a limit of 30 people, or multiples sent a day.
Arun's chucker was designed in conjunction with zynga, and zynga limits it's use to 10,000 items a day sent.
NOW, IS IT JUST ME, OR CAN EVERYONE COUNT 50 x 30 = 1500, NOT 10,000.
SO IF ARUN IS WORKING IN CONJUNCTION WITH ZYNGA.
WHY WOULD ZYNGA BLOCK YOU FOR USING 1 OF ARUN'S SCRIPTS?

ReplyDeleteAs far as I'm concerned, anyone can feel free to use the scripts and things - not something I'm all that likely to consider, but there again this game isn't my life, unlike some who play.
ReplyDeleteWith regards the catcalling and bitchiness going on, it is down to personal preference on how you approach the game - if you genuinely get satisfaction from using a bot to do the work and not actualy doing hands on, that's fine by me as I choose not to.
However, the ones which continually target the same players, as has been noted above by several other users, should indeed be burned out of the game. If the script or bot impedes on others, then ban them,but if it is simply a lazy way to play, (or more efficient when you get to nth levels wih 000's of stamina etc) then it is fine.
I personaly take more satisfaction in knowing I've made all the choices, and the game is played my own way, but if I ever stick to it long enough and end up with the sort of stats being bandied around, maybe I will move on and use certain ones - however, I would be morally sound and refuse to use ones which do carry a wider reaching impact than just for me.
Ultimately it's personal preference, so unless you are tunnel visioned, just acknowledge some go easy/lazy and others go for a personal/slower approach which fits based on them, their life, and most importantly their priorities in life!
zynga has no one to blame but them selves as they let the game get out of control. I'm over lvl 1250 an I'm having lvl 300's hit and beat me. Experience doesn't mean chit, weapons and skill do. So if you have a big credit card, you win. zynga likes this... $$$$$ So I don't really is zynga banning anyone. The whole game has become a big joke.

Hmmm, in one fell swoop you just showed that as a user, you realise there is an advantage, unlike all the idiots above who claim there is no difference in using them as opposed not...
Of course there is an advantage - yeah, it doesn't improve your stats, or make you invincible, but the time you allow it to complete tasks while picking your nose or puling off a swift one shows there is an advantage - thick fucks who use it and claim there is no benefit - if that were true, why do you use them then, you twat?

ReplyDeleteI have read all of the above and I am handicap and it is difficult for some of us handicap to click, comprehend and understand and we play these games for therapy and especially for meeting all you great people. Many words jumped out at me, especially one "ERGO" (Ergonomic). Most of the games have been making the clicking easier. I will be honest, I tried Brawler once and used all my stamina and did not get nothing for it :( I loved the idea of not having to click on fighting, fighting, fighting all the time till person dead or iced. I worked hard this pasted year to build my stats and have over 500 stamina and get half way thru and my hands need a break. I'm no computer wiz and have to have someone of my mw friends explain how to do things and how to play things and if zynga and facebook want to take my account, i will just have to find other games..that is life and I have other support help that keep telling me to take one day at a time and that is what i keep telling myself...life is too short and i love my family.

Zynga brought in new multi gifting, allowing up to 50 items to be sent in 1 go, yes.
this new gifting had a limit of 30 people, or multiples sent a day.
Arun's chucker was designed in conjunction with zynga, and zynga limits it's use to 10,000 items a day sent.
NOW, IS IT JUST ME, OR CAN EVERYONE COUNT 50 x 30 = 1500, NOT 10,000.
SO IF ARUN IS WORKING IN CONJUNCTION WITH ZYNGA.
WHY WOULD ZYNGA BLOCK YOU FOR USING 1 OF ARUN'S SCRIPTS?

You guys/girls ever run or owned your own company or business? The only consideration Zynga or any other companies make is does it hurt or help your business - it is not some great conspiracy - get real - you never hear the back story when ppl get banned and I have a large mafia - never met anyone banned. They are after credit card fraudsters, loot sellers AND loot buyers - every single piece of loot has a unique ID - it is how databases work - they are also after ppl that launch attacks at the server or try to de-compile the code - this specifically targets RP injectors. When you speak to a Customer Service rep on chat - how far up the food chain/pay scale do you think they are? Jeesh lol

ReplyDeletefight scripts are for lazy people. bring on the best auto fight script and I promise I can click just as fast and beat you to the ice.
ReplyDeletemyself and close friends use a simple click technique to increase the percentage of ices. It doesn't guarantee the ice but the percentage is much higher and costs less stamina, from reading different posts the average ice to stamina ratio for most people using scripts is one ice to 100 stamina 1:100. That is a crazy waste of resources.
No tips on how to do the same thing other than practice using your mouse at different speeds and combinations. most of you will not find the technique but for those that do you will find it much more rewarding than scripts.
At a personal level, I don't care if people use fight scripts or not, the ones I do object to are the ones that multi scan for wars and gifts/rewards.

I read all your comments for entertainment. I cant believe how involved people get with a game. It ends up not being a game at all, it ends up being personal.I don't play the games,don't care to either. If all the loot etc is a problem then Zynga needs to write their own scripts to secure their program, else its a free for all, like Microsoft is. Anything that takes away from families being together and having fun together is just promoting harm anyway. So it looks like the crooks are being hit by other crooks, what's new? It's all about wits and who can outsmart who. doesn't matter how well they secure their game there will always be a way to hack it.

Inviting friends to play etc, I would say enhances game play as well.Don't think any of this will stand up in court. The bottom line is either help Zynga get rich or be with your family. No wonder the society today is all screwed up. Families are dysfunctional, marriages don,t last and more. The most important thing in life is not this game or any other. It is your family. When there is nothing else left in the world, you are left with your family to care for and nurture. The money you spend on a game could be better used for food to feed the hungry or even for your own family. God help you if the money you spend on this game is taking food from your family. The monies you spend could be put to use better. Even to build a future with it, not blow it. no you cant take it with you, but you can leave it behind for someone who deserves it.Not sure if Zynga deserves it.Good grief people get a grip!Sounds like you all need help.
